The Manufacturing Engineer will provide leadership for process optimisation, problem solving and continuous improvement. This position will lead the necessary activities required to support existing and new products and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Detailing the Critical Chains of the business, and in particular, the Operational processes, defining and eliminating or optimising the process bottlenecks with emphasis on efficient factory layout, process flow and optimising of capital equipment.
- Identify projects and opportunities for productivity improvement (e.g. yield, cost reduction, time reduction).
- Utilise lean and problem-solving methodologies to drive continuous improvement across the business.
- The production, implementation and management of Assembly and Test SOP's and 5S activities.
- Active involvement with the NPI process to ensure the smooth introduction of new product/variant introductions into manufacturing.
- Standardise and maintain the business processes through regular Plan, Do, Check, Adjust (PDCA) activities
- Influence upstream decisions for inclusion of ‘design for test’, ‘design for manufacture’ and ‘design for assembly’.
- Support the business by leading or facilitating Process Mapping, FMEA and control plans and RCCA activities.
- Deputise (during holidays and absence) for Production Planner & Production Engineering Manager

Qualifications or Functional Experience | An Engineering qualification to HNC or equivalent qualification. Significant Manufacturing / Engineering experience, gained within an assembly and manufacturing environment. Good knowledge of Lean tools and techniques | Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies (eg Six Sigma) and process control. A demonstrable ability to perform in cross-functional teams to achieve objectives within required time frames.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience | Computer literate Mechanical and Electrical Assembly experience in a fast changing process environment. Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of processes | Excellent understanding, interpretation and communication of mechanical and/or electrical systems drawings. Problem solving and fault diagnosis. |

This role will require time to be spent in both an office and workshop environment with the possibility of occasional work at customers and Suppliers factories.
