Efficiently accomplished rebuild of the rider roll on an Andritz winder at Mondi Steti
Jagenberg Paper GmbH located in Krefeld, Germany, is an expert in the production and modernization of machines and plants in the paper industry. The company offers customized solutions to meet the requirements of customers globally.
Mondi Steti being the largest paper mill in the Czech Republic has faced vibration challenges with their winder at PM7.
The experts of Jagenberg Paper analysed the problem and developed a solution. The new design for the rider roll includes stiff bearing shields with new segments consisting of an optimal outer diameter and perfect soft covers. The improvement ensures an average vibration decrease of 28% for all operated paper grades. Moreover the final concept enables a much better winding quality and higher speed.
Due to the reuse of the cross-beam the rebuild was carried out by the experienced Jagenberg technologists during one day.
