Jagenberg Paper GmbH, based in Krefeld, Germany, is an expert in the manufacture and modernization of machinery and equipment for the paper industry. The company offers international solutions tailored to customer needs.
As part of a sheeter rebuild the IPC, responsible for the technological regulation and control of the sheeter, was completely replaced by a modern and future-oriented TIA control system. Before the rebuild, the control system reproduced the control process steps up to the output of the finished cut sheets in a "black box" and thus allowed the customer only limited potential for adaptation and optimisation. The new TIA control system was integrated into the existing automation concept via Profibus and Profinet. In addition, the existing MasterDrives inverters were replaced by new powerful Sinamics S120 inverters and also connected to the existing machine control system.
Jagenberg Paper GmbH, in close cooperation with its sister company from the Jagenberg Group, Lebbing automation & drives GmbH, took over the entire software and hardware engineering, the supply of components and spare parts, as well as the supervision of assembly with on-time commissioning and production support.
The target of the rebuild was to ensure spare parts availability and to restore stable and reliable operation of the machine. The IPC's aging proprietary technology was causing increased equipment failures.
We would like to thank our customer, who for strategic reasons does not wish to be named, for the successful and trustful cooperation.
